Alec frowns. Who does that dude think he is? He re-dials without stopping to check the name on the screen.

“Look, I don’t know who you think you are, but I really need to speak to my brother right now, so will you put him on the phone?”

Stiles knew there was something between him and Derek. He didn’t know what that something was, but it made the hair in his arms stand up and his heart skip a beat. Some people would call it chemistry. Stiles thought there was nothing short of magical in it; chemistry was not going to cut it. He glanced at Derek and caught him staring back. Stiles held his gaze for a moment, expecting Derek to look away but all he did was fix him with the same intense eyes he had the first time he came over to drop an apology coffee.

What mattered was this: at the end of a dinner both of them had to attend, Viktor leaned on him, only half-faking his tiredness and Jayce immediately put on his bright smile and excused them both. There was always a matter to attend at the labs, he said. People understood and apologized for taking so much of his time. People loved him even if —maybe specially because— they didn’t know the half of it.

A dam broke inside him, his shoulders trembled with the weight of the water rushing in and his knees gave in under him. Mel’s deep red gown is quickly untied and before she knows it, she’s unbuttoning Viktor’s blood-soaked clothes, dragging her nails softly behind Jayce’s ear. Her darling boys. If anyone ever dared to touch them, she’d raise hell.

The thing about festivals is that no matter how much you plan to stay with your group, if you are a fan who wants to be close to the performers in any way, you will lose half of your group within a minute of saying guys, let’s move a bit closer. That’s why you’re supposed to set a meeting point that everyone can find. After 10 minutes of standing alone next to the utility pole they’d agreed on, Derek started to wander around. Not too far, but it was worrisome that no one else showed up. They agreed to meet here specifically because Stiles wanted to get a halloumi sandwich—which Derek had already bought for him and carried around as he waited for him.

“Now, I’m going inside and I have zero plans for today, except maybe lounge naked all day long. You guys can stay here or you can come inside and come all over me.”

“Yeah, I don’t want that either”—Allison softly smacks Isaac on the arm closest to her—”what? Derek’s right, that’s gonna be over in less than ten minutes and my ego will never recover.”

The day after they left Milan, Bea wakes up with her boys.

“Why were you on the road, shitface? It’s dangerous.” Without waiting for an answer, Ronan stood up, holding the cat to his chest. When he glanced at Blue, she had an eyebrow raised in his direction. “What? We can’t leave it here. It’ll get run over.”

[Or, the one where Ronan and Blue find a cat. Or a bunch of them.]

Most of the time, Wolfgang spoke English around him. Sometimes he’d tease Rajan and Kala in Hindi, but it was short-lived and he seemed to go back to English effortlessly. On rare occasions, he’d slip into one of the languages spoken by the cluster when they visited. Most noticeable for Rajan though were the occasions when Wolfgang spoke German.
It wasn’t the big things, but the ease with which the words spilled from his lips always made him do a double take. And when Kala replied without a hitch in the same fashion, Rajan started paying attention.

His parents never made a big deal about it, instead, they told him it was possible he’d find a soulmate first and then, later in life, he’d find someone else. The last thing he wanted was to scare Derek away and have him cancel their ridiculous road trip because Stiles messed things up with his complicated feelings.
“I don’t know. Nothing, I guess.” It wasn’t a full lie, so he hoped it would go undetected by the wolf’s ears.
“That’s new.”

“We don’t have to do it if you don’t want to,” Wolfgang reminded her.
“But I want to do it,” she said. “I want to make you feel good.”
Wolfgang paused before taking his pants off. “You always make me feel good.”

Silence fills the car as Stiles hits his head against the wheel, accidentally honking and startling some animals in the dark by the sound of it.
“We should’ve taken my car,” adds Derek.

“You always drink that when you’re at the loft,” he explained, as if it was obvious.

Caitlyn’s brain had short-circuited with the promise of more, especially because Vi had spent the day teasing her with lingering touches and heated looks. She knew that the people around them looked and lately, the techies looked at Vi too much. A possessive streak she didn’t know she had lit up whenever someone stared at Vi’s muscles or when one of the fans asked to take a picture with her —which she politely declined every time.
Now though, Vi was only hers to look at, to have, and to unravel.

“I’m surprised she hasn’t lit on fire by now with the looks you’ve been throwing at her,” said Hen approaching him with a beer.

“So what, Buck?” there was a hint of playfulness in her voice that meant whatever answer Buck gave now would be used to tease him later.

It was ridiculous, really. They shouldn’t even be here, but Scott insisted that someone had to reach out to the packs in the mountains and Derek was known in the supernatural community already: the Hale name still carried some weight and Scott wanted to use it to get them contacts in his ongoing quest to unite the supernatural community. Stiles just happened to be the closest one to Beacon Hills to make the drive with Derek.
Still, they shouldn’t have been here during a snowstorm, but they still got caught in it on their way there. Everything would’ve been okay if they’d brought Stiles' car that was designed for the rough terrain, not Derek’s camaro that didn’t even have tire chains in the trunk.

In an unexpected turn of events, Lito’s next movie sent him to film on location in Canada, which meant that in the last month, he only saw Hernando and Dani on a screen in between calls. It wasn’t that they hadn’t spent time apart before, it was that the distance between them was almost as far as it could be with them still in the same continent and Lito ached.

“What do you mean?” the Doctor said.
Hesitant, almost scared of the answer, she said, “What— what happened to Jack?”

Puzzled, she brought her arm close to her face and saw she had new markings on her skin. They were as pale as she was, but still visible: silver lines that looked a lot like the markings she had once seen at a cave that was out of bounds for the acolytes back with the Rakkor. At the back of her right hand there was another mark resembling a small sun. It was different from the other marks because it shined in pale golden lines that reminded her of Leona, bathed in sunlight before she fought Diana. Without an explanation for it, she put the glove back on, determined to stop thinking about the past she left behind.

[Or, after fighting each other at the top of Mount Targon, Diana and Leona are changed forever. Diana intends to find out how much.]

Idly, Stiles wondered if Derek knew the power he had over him. Stiles spent a long time crushing on Lydia, who spent years completely unaware of his existence. He was sure for Derek it was the same deal: Stiles, Scott’s more annoying shadow or something of the sort.

Stiles kissed Kira, almost as if he was starving. She opened up her mouth under his, her fangs dragging over his lips. Their kiss turned feral, a mess of tongues and teeth and gasps that felt as urgent as blood lust.
